Talent Spotlight: Jenica Lee
International Women's Day 2023
What was your favourite place to visit in the world and why? London England – I lived there for 2 years and enjoyed every minute of it. It’s a city with a vibrant energy and a place for every type of person to find where they belong. It was also very close to other European countries, which made travelling very easy.
Do you have any words to live by? Without fear, there is no courage.
How would your colleagues describe you? Practical, loyal, easy going and always down for a good time.
What is your favourite book and why? The Alice Network by Rose Quinn. This book, along with her entire body of work, puts a focus on strong female leading characters and puts them at the forefront of plots that are based in historical fiction. The Alice Network focuses on a woman who goes undercover during WWII to pass information on to the British and kept me on the edge of my seat through the whole read.
Who are two people you’d like to have lunch with and why? Michelle Obama for her unending desire to help people and her ability to lead with grace. Brene Brown for her ability to provide a space for open and vulnerable conversations to take place and for giving people the language they need to communicate their inner emotions.
If you weren’t in your current position, what would you be doing? A personal stylist/shopper – I’d like to be able to help people feel good about themselves starting from the outside. Being a designer would help with picking proper fits, sizing and colours for people from different backgrounds and body proportions. When people look good, they feel good.
